Humanitarian Aid in Uganda: Myths, Facts and Implications

Thuy-Binh Nguyen, German Red Cross Project Manager in Uganda and the Trust’s Executive Officer for its University Scholarship Programme, will present the next Philip David Gray Memorial Lecture in Economics at Stewart’s Melville College in Edinburgh on Thursday 16 April.

She will speak about her expriences on this project and will use them as the basis of a discussion of the contrast between typical expectations of such development aid and its reality, and of the potential of humanitarian aid more generally, in settings such as rural Uganda.
