2018-19 Round of
Vietnamese University Scholarships

The deadline for applications for 2018-19 scholarships has now passed.

We wish to thank all those students who have applied. Unfortunately, we have received many more applications than there are scholarships available, so only a few applications can be selected for stage two of the application process.

Applicants will be informed by 31 July if they are invited to continue to stage two.

The Philip David Gray Memorial Trust for Vietnam was established in 2005 to support long-term improvement in Vietnam in terms of poverty reduction, healthcare, education and national infrastructure.

The Trust’s main activity is a programme of scholarships for deserving Vietnamese students attending Vietnamese universities. Since its inception in 2008, the scheme has helped a total of 26 students of whom 13 have graduated successfully and are now contributing, each in his or her own way, to the improvement of Vietnam.

The Trust is a lasting memorial to the life and work of Philip David Gray who, at the time of his death in 2005, was a member of the energy infrastructure team of the World Bank in Vietnam. Philip was committed to development that makes a difference to the lives of ordinary people and the Trust aims to continue its work in the same spirit.
