Scholarship Application Round 2021

We are pleased to announce that applications are now invited for the 2021 round of Vietnamese University Scholarships. Please read the Instructions for Scholarship Applicants page carefully and then complete the on-line application form.

Due to the complications arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, the PDG Trust has decided to postpone the deadline for scholarship applications to 31 August 2021 so that students who are being quarantined can still participate in the application process. We will also consider the financial impact of COVID in the selection of candidates for the scholarship.

The Philip David Gray Memorial Trust for Vietnam was established in 2005 to support long-term improvement in Vietnam in terms of poverty reduction, healthcare, education and national infrastructure.

The Trust’s main activity is a programme of scholarships for deserving Vietnamese students attending Vietnamese universities. Since its inception in 2008, the scheme has helped a total of 41 students of whom 30 have graduated successfully and are now contributing, each in his or her own way, to the improvement of Vietnam.

The Trust is a lasting memorial to the life and work of Philip David Gray who, at the time of his death in 2005, was a member of the energy infrastructure team of the World Bank in Vietnam. Philip was committed to development that makes a difference to the lives of ordinary people and the Trust aims to continue its work in the same spirit.
