Scholarship Application Round 2020-21

Update: 13 May 2020

Due to disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the application process for the 2020-21 scholarship round will be delayed.  We are reviewing the situation but cannot yet provide a date when we will begin to accept applications. However, it is hoped that we will be able to process applications and make awards by the end of the summer.

Further announcements will be made, and posted here on the Trust website, in the coming weeks.

The Philip David Gray Memorial Trust for Vietnam was established in 2005 to support long-term improvement in Vietnam in terms of poverty reduction, healthcare, education and national infrastructure.

The Trust’s main activity is a programme of scholarships for deserving Vietnamese students attending Vietnamese universities. Since its inception in 2008, the scheme has helped a total of 37 students of whom 25 have graduated successfully and are now contributing, each in his or her own way, to the improvement of Vietnam.

The Trust is a lasting memorial to the life and work of Philip David Gray who, at the time of his death in 2005, was a member of the energy infrastructure team of the World Bank in Vietnam. Philip was committed to development that makes a difference to the lives of ordinary people and the Trust aims to continue its work in the same spirit.
